Quantitative - data that is measurable and indirectly gathered.
Qualitative - descriptive data and is based on direct observation.
Attitudinal - what people say about themselves which helps understand their expectations and perceptions.
Behavioural - data that is gathered by observing people directly which gives a sense of how people interact with the product.
UX Research Techniques
A/B Testing - used to compare two different design options.
Surveys and Questionnaires - used to collect data that is based on what the users say.
Card Sorting - to determine information architecture
Eye Tracking - to track users’ eyes as they move around an interface.
Diary Studies - get users to describe aspects of their daily lives that are relevant to the product.
User Interviews - used to engage one-on-one with the user.
