North American Weather At UK Latitudes

Brits often talk about the weather. It is dominated by the Gulf Stream, a strong flow of warm water from the equatorial region. This keeps the country much warmer than its latitude would suggest - the UK much further north than many expect. This collection matches UK cities and places with corresponding places in North America at about the same or lower latitude. Spanning over 9° of latitude (⅒th of the distance from equator to pole), the UK mainland is surprisingly long north-to-south. Its South coast often has temperatures that can rival southern Europe whilst the Scotland is far enough north to see the Aurora.
