The extension of the frontal sinuses into the frontal area as well as into the nasal septum and cribriform plate is a common malformation, which can be diagnosed on an early imaging study. Therefore, the operative treatment is performed at an early age. A review of the English and Spanish literature does not indicate a consensus on the surgical approach. We report our experience with a conservative transnasal endoscopic approach. We treated five patients with a frontal sinus hypoplasia (Type I-III) and two patients with a frontal recess agenesis (Type IV). In the first group (six patients) the surgical approach was transnasal endoscopic and the authors were able to close the frontal sinus opening without any postoperative complications. In the second group (one patient) the surgical approach was transnasal open due to incomplete nasal septum and the opening was closed with the help of a frontonasal flap. In the last group (one patient) the frontal recess was not detected at the initial study and the patient was not operated. The endoscopic approach is safe and useful in many cases. Easy integration with Paint.net
Setting up the plugin is a very simple task, since all you have to do is copy the downloaded DLL file to the "Effects" folder of Paint.net. It works with both the installer and portable versions of the application. If it was launched prior to taking this step, you have to restart it.
Remove red eye and preview changes
From this point on, you can access Red Eye Quick Fix from the "Effects" menu after loading an image. The pupils of the people in the photograph are automatically identified and you can enhance or decrease the threshold by moving a slider, enter the numerical value which represents the threshold level, or click on two buttons to increase or reduce this number. It can be reset to default.
Another aspect worth noting is that the modifications can be previewed while tinkering with the threshold, so there's no need to commit changes to be able to check results and undo your action or delete the second layer if you're not satisfied with the outcome.
Evaluation and conclusion
Although Red Eye Quick Fix hasn't been updated for a considerable amount of time, we haven't come across any compatibility issues with the most recent edition of Paint.net in our tests. It didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages.
