Adolescence & Self-Esteem

Self-Esteem refers to how an individual feels about their self. Self-esteem is all about the attitude you have about yourself. Many factors impact one's self-esteem, but there is one big impactor on it. Social media is lowering self-esteem, not raising it. Psychologists have been studying self-esteem ever since Freud. They have come a long way, but still do not have self-esteem figured out completely. Low self-esteem may be temporary for some adolescents, but serious cases of it can lead to depression, anxiety, eating disorders, or even suicide. Anxiety has increased among people over the years and it may be because of social media lowering self-esteem. If you think positive thoughts about yourself and compliment and show kindness to others, it will definitely help with self-esteem.
