History
AutoCAD Crack Free Download was introduced in 1982 as a replacement for the drawing application that was previously used by architects. The AutoCAD drawing style was influenced by architectural drafting at that time. A key focus of the application was the creation of standards-based drawings, including the ability to connect to external data sources and export to other applications. To make it easier to learn and use AutoCAD, it initially did not have any menu commands.
The first versions of AutoCAD were distributed on floppy disks. The first official release was AutoCAD Release 1, which was publicly released on May 5, 1983. It was initially offered only for the Apple II computer, though an IBM PC compatible version was introduced in 1988. In 1990, the application was re-released for the PC. In 1998, AutoCAD released a Windows version, running in either a windowed mode or full screen. In 2000, AutoCAD 2000 was released, which introduced three-dimensional modeling, drawing scale, and shape-based objects, and the user interface was redesigned for the Windows platform. AutoCAD XP, released in 2002, introduced 2D-plane modeling, an imported drawing template library, and the ability to use multiple application instances.
In 2006, AutoCAD 2010 was released. It introduced editing of elements such as planes, text, and colors, integrated object selection, document properties, and a new graphical user interface.
In 2011, AutoCAD 2013 was released. It introduced 3D modeling and a collaborative editing feature.
In 2013, the application was renamed AutoCAD 2015. It was the last AutoCAD version to support the earlier release numbering convention. Beginning with AutoCAD 2016, it began using a new release numbering convention, and the application is no longer known by its previous name.
The latest AutoCAD version is AutoCAD 2020, first released in March 2018.
