Loving Father,
I know You to be kind and good.
Please take mercy on those who toil
Yet receive no comforts on earth.
Even the thief who steals bread
Is only hungry and poor.
Give us the strength to regain our dignity
As You have bestowed upon us
Give us the strength to regain our dignity
So that we may once again find the space
To be kind to one another
And to embody Your love in each other’s embrace.
Ephesians 4:28. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.
Help us, loving Father, to forge a brighter world
Where we no longer labor only to be poor
Where we no longer labor to keep another man rich
Help us, loving Father, to forge a kinder world
Where we will labor to feed each other
And to keep each other never wanting.
This kinder world where Your love will shine
Through all our actions and work for our community.
Ecclesiastes 3:12-13. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.
As the rent reaches higher than mountains,
Please shelter us.
As the price of bread escapes well above our reach,
