Functionality
NetWare 
AutoCAD also has extensive support for DOS/Windows-based NetWare architecture. Its native NetWare application is AutoCAD NET, based on the Windows version of AutoCAD. When a NetWare client uses it, it is installed and run as a Windows application. NetWare clients can be used without installation or with minimal installation. AutoCAD NET features both graphical and textual input. An important feature of AutoCAD NET is that it can also be accessed from a Linux client via the NetWare Plug and Play (NWP), which enables Linux applications to function like a file server.
 IBM System Network Architecture 
For IBM System Network Architecture (SNA), AutoCAD supports files in ANSI and UNICODE character sets, either within the same file or in separate files for each character set.
 64-bit support 
AutoCAD 2018 for Windows supports both 32-bit and 64-bit computers. 
AutoCAD 2017 for Windows 64-bit support requires an operating system 64-bit version of Windows 7 or later. An operating system with a 64-bit architecture version of Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2 is recommended. An operating system with a 64-bit architecture version of Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 R2 is not recommended.
AutoCAD can be run in 64-bit mode if the Windows operating system has a 32-bit compatible version of the C runtime library. In order to use 64-bit AutoCAD, the Windows operating system must also support 32-bit virtualization. The 32-bit version of the C runtime library is part of a 64-bit Windows operating system, but only as a run-time. If it is disabled, the run-time of a 64-bit AutoCAD can still be used. The Windows operating system must provide both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the C runtime library.
AutoCAD for Windows 32-bit supports 32-bit clients on 64-bit and mixed-mode hardware. AutoCAD for Windows 64-bit supports 64-bit clients on both 64-bit and mixed-mode hardware.
