What is ARC Graphics Editor?
ARC Graphics Editor (GEDdit or ARC) is a raster graphics editing and processing application included in AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. GEDdit can be used to correct problems such as color/gray-scale errors, type in an existing drawing, and correct for minor distortions. GEDdit can open and save files in AutoCAD (or AutoCAD LT) format.
The ARC Graphics Editor feature also enables the user to manipulate and edit graphics files stored in the Windows Clipboard, including drawing areas. The user can copy or paste drawing areas in a workspace. Drawing area copying and pasting is a feature not available in AutoCAD LT.
An additional feature of GEDdit is the ability to print out a drawing area, which is useful for copy-and-paste drawing area operations.
If you have AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT, you can access the Arc Graphics Editor by opening the AutoCAD menu, choosing the Edit menu, then opening the Arc Graphics Editor by choosing Graphics > GEDdit.
