Many people prefer to use third-party image viewers to check how their images look. Even the Windows Explorer image viewer is often considered too basic, which is why Image Fiddler is the perfect replacement.
Apart from Image Fiddler there are also various image viewer plugins for browsers, but they suffer from various problems and have not been designed specifically for image viewing.
The application provides a simple Windows interface with nothing much to distract you from your task. It uses a minimal theme which most people don't find very appealing but the default colors are pretty bright and cheerful. The default size is 1024x768 pixels for the main window but you can freely resize the window to any size and configuration you want by dragging the corners.
Once you open the main window there will be a smaller window which shows the currently open image. You can move this window around as well as zoom the image in and out.
The content of the image can be examined by using the context menu which provides options like the ability to scroll the image with the mouse wheel, display the original size of the image in the window, rotate the image, or stretch the image.
When you click on the magnifying glass icon you can zoom in on the selected section of the image. That is something that you can't do from the main window and it's one of the nicest features I've seen in image viewers.
The layout of the various buttons in the context menu is very clean and the options are easy to find.
It's always good to see support for many popular image formats including BMP, GIF, PNG, JPG, EMF, WMF, and TIFF.
But the best part of the application is that it doesn't use any unnecessary registry entries to
