Last up, Indir.Comic-Con: Daredevil Season 2 Early View
We got a look at The Defenders in Hall H at Comic-Con, and it was less than overwhelming. Between that and the lack of Daredevil in Hall H (not that he’d fit in), it’s pretty clear that there is very little interest in Daredevil from Marvel Studios.
That’s not to say that it’s terrible, because there are some very nice touch here and there. First of all, the panel began with an introduction from Ben Affleck as the guy in the Daredevil costume. The introduction explained that Matt is suffering from some kind of neural damage, and to a lesser extent, it’s affecting his fighting abilities. Since he can’t just kick anyone he wants, he’s going to need to use special fighting moves, so he’s put the costume on and become the Avenger, Daredevil. Of course, they’re friends.
Daredevil’s nephew, Matt, is also a great part of the show, so expect more of that when he returns. Meanwhile, Vanessa (Jessica Jones) and her crew are still in the city (though they’re not in Hall H), and there are a lot of nods and references to them in this version of Daredevil.
As for the rest of the cast, the big question was whether Michael Clarke Duncan would be returning as the Big Bad in season 2. As you can see in the photo, it was the question of the panel. The final answer wasn’t revealed, but hopefully that doesn’t mean it won’t be there. Or, maybe it means it’s being decided by the writers and the actors.
We also got a teaser for the upcoming second season, which was a look at some new footage. Since it was being shown before the panels began, it wasn’t much more than that.
There were also some other tidbits revealed by Marvel and Netflix, and there were still a few things that we didn’t see. Frankly, it was nice that we didn’t see too many things that we didn’t see in the teaser trailer.
