LESSONS FROM AUSCHWITZ PROGRAMME
We are pleased to announce that we will soon be participating in the Spring 'Lessons from Auschwitz Programme', where two students will be selected to take part in a unique opportunity to learn about the history of the Holocaust through both online seminars and a one-day visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum in Poland.

Students will consider the individuals whose lives were affected by the Holocaust and the relevance of the Holocaust today by:
Taking part in two online seminars, led by experts in the history of the Holocaust and Holocaust education
Hearing directly from Holocaust survivors, who will share their personal experiences, including during a live survivor testimony and Q&A
Participating in a one-day Visit to Poland
Considering the relevance of this history in today’s world
Sharing what they have learnt within their school and wider community.

If you would like to be considered for this opportunity, you must be:
aged 16-19
in Year 1 of a Level 3 or A level study programme
available on all dates above 
have a valid passport that extends 6 months post travel date
be able to arrange your own travel to and from Exeter airport on Wednesday 6 March
This year the cost will be £59 payable by the learner, but 50% bursary support available if eligible. Limited funding for travel is also potentially available.

To apply, please submit a short essay (maximum 500 words) entitled 'Fragility and freedom in our current world' and submit to:

gary.childs@petroc.ac.uk by 16:00 on 5 January
Two students will then be selected for a place and notified on 8 January.
