Steps needed to combat Human Trafficking.
Doing your part is necessary. That's why Donald Duncan, city manager of Conover, North Carolina is offering basic training to all city staff as part of the safety training regimen. Regtech is the new technology helping combat it. The technology needed has already been made, it just needs to be implemented. Computers will be able to reveal, connect and display the evidence. By using machine learning and behavior modeling. It has already been tested and it cut the average false positive ratio in half and increased productivity. Implementing Regtech can lower the cost and risk at the time. Laundering information needs to be distributed further.
Helping victims and sharing stories are greatly helpful in spreading awareness. Awarenes as well as reporting signs are a key part in stopping human trafficking. Report potential cases even if you aren’t completely sure, and leave it to the professionals to decide whether or not it is a human trafficking case. The Human Trafficking Hotline number is 888-373-7888. The hotline has collected information regarding human trafficking since 2007, and has helped with 56,504 cases, some with muliple victims.
