My Story
My name is Kameron Lumanlan, but many know me as Kam Deckard of Trailblazer Collective. Growing up, music was always sort of an escape from the busyness of the world. I treasured my beloved iPod shuffle that carried all my favorite tunes with me wherever I went. Like many others in the world, there was a part of me that felt as if my relationship with music was platonic. But something in my soul kept telling me that music was more than just an escape from the world. I always embodied the feeling that one day I would be able to make music and at the same time connect with individuals listening to the art I longed to create. Back home from college, after the rise of COVID,  I was integrated into the daily studio sessions my brother (a devoted artist for many years) would host, and we would make music for what seemed like countless hours. The compositions and lyrics we entangled together provided a sort of bursting euphoria for us. Soon enough, we began creating what would become our first single, “Weekend," which would consequently birth our band into existence. Ever since we embarked on this musical journey, we have had an abundance of ups and downs. Whether it be reaching 100,000 streams on Spotify or coming up empty from a record label meeting, we felt as if we had seen it all. Amidst all of these life-changing moments there were experiences gained along the way, achievements integral to our growth as artists. Rather than keeping these life-lessons locked up in my cognition, I am inspired to share what I've learned in the music industry in hopes that I can help someone traveling on the same path I am.
