Regarding the Second Issues
Grieco.com has not been a holder of any of these stamps.
I have a Friend who owns BOLIVIA as well as some BOLIVIA stamps and I have seen these stamps - for which I own a lot - in both private and trade collections.
This stamp-set issued in 1909-24 were canceled by an Italian firm, POOPO. They are probably the most interesting and beautiful stamps that were ever issued in Bolivia. I have tried to do an article on them for many years and this was the conclusion I came to in the end. But when I was offered the opportunity of doing it as a GRIECO topic (not bad for me, since I never got so far as to actually write a book about these stamps), I told my friend that I would love to do it as a GRIECO topic, not only because I love the stamps themselves, but also because I love to hear my ideas about stamps discussed.
This was the opportunity I was looking for and I'm doing the topic, as I said, not as a book, but as a collection of articles, including articles that may or may not have a particular aim or a particular emphasis - as I like doing them. I'd be happy if you would join in.
I'm writing on the basis of the original stamps of 1909-24 (already registered on Grieco.com - see ad at the bottom of this post) and of some of the stamps that have been re-issued (at the moment, only Latin America and Bolivia, not Brazil or Chile).
I also have the very nice stamps from the re-issue of the Belmonte Issue that also contains a couple of the previous stamps - an issue that is easily available and for which I plan to do an article later.
