Mapping to DIN
All parts are mapped to the corresponding values in the DIN standards. The table below shows how to map them.
Applying the DIN standard
When using DIN standards, the first step is to select the type of component. The following tables are based on the six standard tables of DIN. • The first numbers of the first column of the table indicate the table number, the second the table name, and the third the column number. • The parts listed in the tables are considered as dimensions.
The tables used are:
 DIN 0300 – Types of parts
 DIN 0400 – Numbering of parts
 DIN 0500 – The basic body section
 DIN 0600 – The left section
 DIN 0700 – The right section
 DIN 0800 – The bottom section
 DIN 0900 – The top section
 DIN 1000 – Auxiliary parts
 DIN 1100 – Assembly
 DIN 1200 – The internal framework
 DIN 1300 – The mounting of the components on the framework
 DIN 1400 – The outer protection of the components
 DIN 1500 – Finish
The material for the components is not covered in the table, but is found in other standards in the DIN standards. The design and the choice of material are considered in the analysis.
The sections of the body are considered as elements. The material of the body is indicated in the table by the body number. The material of the component can be changed and should be considered in the analysis.
The tables of the standard sheet are based on the type of component. • The tables are grouped by type of component.
Note: With the exception of the section for spacer plate and plate-like components, the first table indicates the DIN standard, and the second table corresponds to the standard for each section.
 DIN 0300 (types of parts)
The first table contains all the parts of the body. These parts can be either complex or simple. The table indicates the number of parts.
The table includes the number of parts, the type of component, a reference to the standard sheet, and the corresponding DIN standard. The difference to the type of the standard sheet is given by 033, 037, or 038. The following table shows the differences.
