NDP candidate Lorne Newick said when all the ballots are counted, he expects a close race between Conservative candidate Dan Muys and Liberal candidate Vito Sgro.  
Newick noted while he had run for local union office, this was his first election campaign. “It was good experience just to talk – I talked to a lot of people and knocked on a lot of doors,” he said. “I got a lot of different perspectives across the riding.”  
Newick said he thinks the Flamborough-Glanbrook riding should be reviewed by Elections Canada. “It’s just too big of an area, geographically,” he said. “It’s just too big – to serve a riding this size, it would be a lot.  
“I thought about that a lot, if I was to be the MP for this riding, it would be a big job to be connected to all the different communities in the riding."  
Personally, Newick said he isn’t sure what his political future holds. “I haven’t really given it a whole lot of thought,” he said. “I’m going to take a bit of time off and figure out what comes up next.”
