Kosmos 293 ( meaning Cosmos 293), also known as DS-P1-Yu No.10, was a Soviet satellite which was launched in 1975 as part of the Dnepropetrovsk Sputnik programme. It was a  satellite, which was built by the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau, and was used as a radar calibration target for the L-100.
Launch 
Kosmos 293 was launched from Site 133/1 at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, on board a R-36 carrier rocket. The launch took place at 13:55 UTC on 19 August 1975, with Kosmos 293 marking the first launch of a Dnepropetrovsk launch rocket.
The launch successfully placed the satellite into a low Earth orbit, with an orbital period of approximately 7.5 minutes. It was subsequently assigned its Kosmos designation, and received the International Designator 1975-030A.
Kosmos 293 was the tenth of nineteen DS-P1-Yu satellites to be launched, and the second of three to be launched in 1975.
