What does soil have to do with agriculture? Well, everything! Agriculture is the practice of cultivating plants and/or livestock. It's one of the many reason why our population had a great increase in the past 100 years. Due to advancements in technology, we're now able to feed more people. 
Although it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Due to our advancements in technology, we have lost a lot of old traditional knowledge from those before our time. We got so enthralled in creating mass-producing farms of food that we never took a step back and asked, "Is this sustainable?" And well, the short answer is no. 
However, there is hope. As younger generations grow up and become more educated in how our earth systems work and where our food comes from, we're starting to apply older concepts that were once lost to older cultures. Native Americans have thrived off of bountiful harvests and scientists are starting to ask them questions about this "common knowledge".
