So, how do you know if the literature you have found is from a reputable source? In academic writing it is important that you use literature aimed at academia/healthcare professionals rather than the general public. This is because it is more likely to be peer reviewed. You can read about peer review here https://www.elsevier.com/reviewers/what-is-peer-review. In nursing and healthcare, government policy and guidelines are also reputable sources of evidence. 
Remember to avoid the pitfalls of using unreliable literature, you should steer clear of the following: 
Wikipedia is often the first thing that appears on a google search. Avoid this....entries an be amended by anyone...have a go yourself! 
Mumsnet (and other websites like this) is often a source of information for parents. However, it is not for healthcare professionals. 
Newspapers have a political agenda. 
Avoid using media stories https://schools.firstnews.co.uk/blog/fake-news/bias-in-the-press/
While social media can be used with caution, it is often not moderated. Avoid using social media posts and instead find the original source of information.
