Hines fantasy appeal depends exclusively on Taylors situation this week, so youll need to keep an eye on the news heading into Sundays game. It is a 1 p.m. ET kickoff, so youll at least have time to make lineup adjustments. After putting together an elite 2021 season, Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor has struggled to find the same production this fall due to injury and struggles along the offensive line. On Sunday, the team will be without the star back once again, and will also be without his main backup, do-it-all running back Nyheim Hines.Taylor was injured in the teams Oct. 2 loss to the Titans, and missed the Thursday night game against the Broncos four days later. This time, Colts running back Nyheim Hines went down after taking a hit to the head a minute into Indianapolis Thursday Night Football matchup with the Broncos in Denver. Hines struggled to get up off the turf and then staggered as he tried to get to his feet before being helped to the sideline. Broncos medical staff took action, rushing out to help him to his feet. Hines eventually walked off the field under his own power. Amid waves of criticism about the leagues head injury policy, the NFL and NFL Players Association began working to set new parameters of updated concussion protocols. As Garafolo noted, those protocols havent been agreed to, but the league and the players association both emphasized the importance of ruling out any player who exhibits signs of gross motor instability, such as Tagovailoa did during the Dolphins Week 3 game against the Bills. Hines reaction to Bonittos hit would fall in that category and would rule him out of Thursdays game. What does this mean for the Colts? Indianapolis was already without No. 1 running back Jonathan Taylor, who suffered a high-ankle sprain during Week 4. Without Hines, the expectation is that Phillip Lindsay will take most of the carries for the remainder of the game against the Broncos. Lindsay put together back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with the Broncos in 2018 and 2019 before seeing his career stagnate.
