Satellite Tracker [March-2022]
The latest major version of Tracker is v3.6 and is distributed as both a Windows executable and as an Apple macOS package. As an Apple macOS application, it needs to be installed with only one user-level permission assigned to that application - read_only.
The easiest way to perform this is to use the built in macOS Application installer. The installer produces a copy of Tracker's files into the user's Mac's Applications folder and also creates a Launch Daemon that will start Tracker when the mac boots. Tracker will run in the background and should not interfere with the Mac's regular operating system.
To use the Tracker as a user level application, double click on the Tracker icon in the Finder. The program will run in the Finder's background and will use the mac's screen for displaying data. After several seconds, the Tracker logo image will display on the mac's screen.
When Tracker is running in the Finder's background, the Tracker icon icon will appear below the Finder icon. If the Tracker icon is clicked, a menu with two options will open:
Open
Closes Tracker.

Opens a web browser window (defaults to Google Chrome) that can be used to:
Register for free at the tracker.sca.org website. Registration requires a valid email address.
Uses the free SCA 'Tracker Client' web application to submit your queries to us.
To use the Tracker, first you must register an account. This is a free, interactive website that is used to submit satellite queries to Tracker. Registration requires a valid email address. You can also log in using your SCA Username and password.
Once you have logged in to the tracker.sca.org website, you will find that the previous Trackerservice window has been replaced by the following.
Tracker is a complete, stand-alone satellite tracking program that uses a database of known Kepler records to display the position and status of as many as 4 satellites. It will also plot the time history of one or more acquisition times and time spent in eclipse for the satellites in its database.
Tracker can be used to record and plot the positions of two or more small satellites from the same or different transmitters. In addition, it can plot the positions of commercial ISS or HTS satellites as they pass close to Earth. It can also plot some other satellites that have been entered into its satellite database, but the appearance and functionality of those satellites will vary depending

Version 3.5 is a major update from Version 3.4. Version 3.4 has a few improvements and bug fixes but if you own Version 3.4, you do not need to upgrade. If you are using Version 3.4, please upgrade to Version 3.5.

- Satellite list: the list displays the satellites that are currently tracked and saved.
- World star chart: view the satellites over a background of stars.
- Known orbit plots: monitor the predicted times of acquisition, loss and tracking of satellites from a list of satellites.
- Preview: a preview of the new display.
- Next: move on to the next display.
- Back: return to the previous display.
- Journal: a log of information and activities in Tracker.
- Save satellite plots: save the satellite plots that are open.
- Delete satellite plots: delete the current satellite plots from the memory.
- Hide satellite plots: hide the current satellite plots from the memory.
- Quit: quit the application.
