Spectrum analysis using the Polar SFR-A ez can be done with this application. This application can read your SFR-A Ez data and can create a text file or ASCII file with the data that can be then be uploaded onto the Spectrum Analyzer for further inspection. The application has a very convenient way of verifying your input parameters.
There are four main features:
1. Analyse a spectrum from a recording.
2. Convert a spectrum from a recording to a table or string with some of the info's (transfer functions, bandwidth, etc.) in the table.
3. Export a table from the application to be uploaded on the Spectrum Analyzer.
4. Set a defined point to take a spectrum, for example for verifying a spectrum.
The fourth feature is not completely finished yet.
The Spectrogram Digitizer is a product made by the company Polaroid. They are a hardware vendor. Since the development of this application started on the 14th of August 2002, the Polaroid company has done a lot of updates on the Polar software and the converter. They have recently bought a Spectrum Analyzer that they use in their development. The company Polar for a while had did some tests with a software only solution and the results were rather bad.
4.1 Features:
This application create a new files on the directory where the information is saved (for example $user_home/.polsr-ez) with the following name:
.pds
This new files contains the information from the program.
Example: If the record name was "sonnet.t", then the files name would be "sonnet.t.pds" (a.s.o if there is some spaces in the string, it would create a new file so "sonnet.t, sonnet.t.pds". But you can easily change that by adding an extra line to the application.
File_1/ = The record name,
File_2/ = The record frequency,
File_3/ = The record attenuation,
File_4/ = The recording time,
File_5/ = The calibration time,
File_6/ = The pulse width,
File_7/ = The start point,
File_8/ = The duration.
Table_1/ = The values from the transfer function. This will be a table with the values in the table in the field:

Spectrogram 1:
Select the application and click on the "Open" button. Click on the digitize button next to the SFR-A Ez antenna.
Click on the "Open" button, and click on the "Receive" button.
Reverse sweeping is possible through the use of a modifier key (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Sfr-A Ez).
If you use a scanner, the application must be allowed to have access to the scanner.
Select the main program and click on the "Open" button. Select the input device called COM3 (Serial Port).
Click on the Start button.
Receive and Digitize the Polar PWI SFR-A Ez antenna.
If there is more than one Polar PWI SFR-A Ez spectrum to digitize, the application must be allowed to have access to more than one serial port.
Select the "OMS CDR Datareader" program from the list of programs and click on the "Open" button.
Select the input device called OMS Cdr Datareader and click on the Start button.
Use the input device called OMS Cdr Datareader and click on the OK button.
Click on the Start button and wait for the OMS Cdr Datareader to read the data from the Cdr Datareader.
If the modulus of the receiver-match filter should be set according to the DTO (data transmit only) mode, change the setting of the setting (i.e. the modulus) in the program to the value that you need.
If the average data should be used, the modulus of the setting should be set to zero.
When the Polar PWI SFR-A Ez spectrum has been digitized, select the SFR-A Ez spectrum and click on the "Open" button.
Select the "OMS CDR Datareader" program from the list of programs and click on the "Open" button.
Select the input device called OMS Cdr Datareader and click on the Start button.
Use the input device called OMS Cdr Datareader and click on the OK button.
Click on the Start button and wait for the OMS Cdr Datareader to read the data from the Cdr Datareader.
Click on the "Digitize" button and click on the "OK" button.
Select the SFR-A Ez spectrum and click on
