Roblox is an online game platform and game creation system developed by Roblox Corporation that allows users to program games and play games created by other users. In 2013, Roblox introduced a higher level "NXT" scripting language to make scripting more straightforward and to allow for more complicated features. In 2016, they released their first game, Survive the zombie apocalypse, with a set price (30USD) and different pricing tiers (20 USD for "learners", 70 USD for "pros") for the consumers. In 2018, they released a simplified free version, which is still downloaded millions of times every month (it is now called "Virtual Worlds").
Roblox is built for the Web but can also be played on smartphones (e.g. iPhone, Android, webOS). The browser version enables the users to create their own games without needing to download a client. More recent versions also support mobile games, where the client can be downloaded and run on smartphones. The user needs to install an Roblox viewer app in the smartphone first.
