I have a workbook with 4 sheets. I need to save just the print area of one sheet as html, so I can use ftp to post the page to a website. The result will be the same since you have no write access.Save in your home and find some way to push it onto your server. It is not my web site. I am just responsible for making changes to a schedule on one page. I make alterations to a spreadsheet and save a cell range on one of the pages in htm and use ftp to replace the file at the host. Good, bad or indifferent as the method may be, that is what I have to work with. It is not a real problem for me, as I do have a W7 box that I use here. I was just trying to be able to duplicate the work I do in W7 on Ubuntu.Thanks for your efforts. So, access is not a problem.. Something is preventing me from saving as HTML. The only error I get is the one described previously. Perhaps something else is missing? Like I said, I do not HAVE to do this in Open Office, I have the W7 machine running side by side with this one. I had been wanting to show others that there are alternatives to MS and be able to accomplish this job with no additional fuss. I have had to train others to post the spreadsheet to their portion of the website and some have never done more than email and a little surfing online with their computer. So adding any extra step to the process is counter productive. Although the EXPORT dialog box offers you a checkbox option to indicate that you want to export to HTML only selected cells of a Calc sheet, when you try to do that operation, the program crashes. I tried the suggestion offered above to copy the range of cells and paste them into a new sheet and then export that entire sheet, but the copied and pasted cells lose all their height, width and font formatting. The export-a-range-of-cells-to-HTML works fine if you are exporting to a PDF document, which is great. But I need the HTML version (and converting PDF to HTML is really messy.) I hope this feature gets fixed soon.Any comments or suggestions would be most welcome. Open Office 3.4.0 on 64-bit Win 7
