Steve Whitmore is a School Social Work Consultant for Oakland Schools and works with school social workers and educators in the areas of social skill development, mental health, student engagement, Trauma * resilience, technology/social media, time study, and IEP development. He served as the webmaster for and   the Michigan Association of School of Social Workers (www.masswmi.org).  
Steve had been a direct service school social worker for over 13 years. He has experience in public, charter and parochial schools. Prior to school employment, he had worked in day treatment, home-based and outpatient settings in both Macomb and Wayne County.  In addition to Oakland Schools, Steve maintains a small private practice.
