Process re-engineering is not a new phenomenon. In fact, it was proved to be an important concept / practice more than a decade ago. Most IT companies had adopted it as a standard practice to re-engineer their existing processes - from the time business needs arose, through all idea evaluation and implementation steps, through to ongoing Process Management of those processes, their products and services. It has become a common process used for continuous improvement of business processes.
