Macon-Bibb Commission 6/19/24
The Macon-Bibb County Commission passed Mayor Lester Miller's $211 million budget that includes a tax rate rollback and salary increases for county workers. In the wake of a recent cyber attack, commissioners agreed to a new $132K annual contract for continuous monitoring of Macon-Bibb computer systems. The county also accepted about $678K in grants for local courts, hired a landscaper for Linear Park along Interstate 75 in Pleasant Hill, abandoned rights-of-way and sold property off Telfair, Violet and Hill streets, and approved open alcohol containers during the upcoming Bragg Jam concert crawl in late July. Here are highlights from Tuesday's County Commission proceedings captured in social media posts.
