Below are my views as a user of the GPU Perf Diagnostic tool, which I like to call "GPU Perf Monitor" (GPUPerfMonitor.exe). GPU Perf Monitor is a very powerful, very useful tool for anyone who wants to track performance issues in their GPU-programs. It is very feature-rich and performs very well in my experience.
After a few weeks since I posted my last blog entry on GPU Perf Monitor, I decided to post some updates. More information will be available soon.
The first thing that I have done is improved the scripting engine of GPU Perf Monitor. The new scripting engine uses a native.NET 4.0 scripting language that is very easy to use for scripting commands and procedures.
I added a new GPU Perf Monitor script database where you can store and quickly use your own GPU Perf Monitor scripts. Currently you can save your scripts as.NET Script scripts in a folder inside the user's data folder. You can store any scripts that you want and you will be able to load the scripts from this "script registry" folder from inside GPU Perf Monitor whenever you want.
Also the filtering of the profiler results has been improved. At the moment you can manually filter any profiler results with different criteria
