Having spent a long time working on the new, ultra-responsive virtual guitar amp, we've been wanting to release it now to represent our other music projects.
It's an unusual sounding amp, rather than trying to recreate one, we had the opportunity to design a great sounding amp with great and unique user interface.
The real guitar amps and guitar software we're all used to don't really have a great user interface for controlling settings, and the ones we've seen that do are actually pretty ugly. So we've designed something that makes it easy to use and play in real time.
As well as having great tone, the amp has great dynamics. No matter how hard you push the volume knob, the amp still gives a decent amount of headroom.
We've designed our amp to produce a fantastic tone and a pleasant light playing experience, with no excessive gain and no need to pedal. That said, we do have a sweet spot at the lowest input level (around -50dB) which we recommend for the "hardest" get-up-and-rock-lively-who-knows-what's-going-to-happen-tonight live sets.
Our virtual guitar amp has a rich and well developed sound character that really feels unique and unlike anything else. We'd recommend it for users looking for a great guitar amp, but we have a good feeling that it will be perfect for any music playing application you can imagine.
The amp delivers a truly "live" experience, great for soloing or small to medium sized bands. It's fantastic for emulating the sound of classic tube amps, but our secret weapon (for sure!) is the microphone modeling and handling that really brings the tone out.
Our device is a nice and narrow tube amp, and it sounds clear and really transparent. It has a warm, unique sound - it's a comfortable amp to play around with and a great performer across a wide range of styles.
The guitar amp emulation is, of course, just for the guitar and speaker and the device does not emulate the rest of your system - the speaker cabinet, your amp cab, your guitar inputs.
The inherent quality of its sound when perfect, coupled with the powerful XLR inputs and the sheer responsiveness of the device, makes the Flying Haggis a great tool for musicians.
