The Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client makes it possible for you to access the Outlook mailbox of an Exchange mail user and perform various operations. Using MAPI, you can retrieve a set of messages selected for delivery, retrieve a user's mailbox for a given email address, view a user's outbox and presence information, and change the user's password. It also provides the user with a new MAPI session for communicating with the Exchange Server.
The Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client also makes it possible for you to synchronize a user's mail on another MAPI-enabled system. MAPI uses an.iqYaml file to synchronize the mail between two MAPI-enabled systems. The file contains one entry for each message in a user's mailbox. For each entry, the following information is provided in a.SendMessage() request:
