Welcome to the Halloween newsletter special edition!

As you can see, this week we focused exclusively on Halloween at EIS and all that it entailed. For me, this was the best Halloween celebrations I have seen at EIS, and there were a number of reasons why I think that:

Participation - for the first time we had full participation from EYFS up to KS5. Next year, we can squeeze a little bit more, but I was very impressed this time round, I must say. A special mention to Secondary, it was heartening to see the independent projects and teamwork going on around the school.
Activities - we had an amazing array of very original activities: we had pumpkin carving, door competitions, apple bobbing, a skeleton scavenger hunt, a trick or treat carousel, classroom games, STEAM projects, karaoke, do-nut eating, literacy project ghost stories and the flour game. A big thank you to Ms Fox, Ms Elena and Ms Sonia for the ideas.
Parents - it was great to see parents come into the school twice in one day. I enjoyed leading tours of the school to see all of the amazing doors and classroom decorations. The parade was also very well received, especially with the stage set-up. The concert had a great presence as well, with some unable to fit in. We are going to need a bigger hall!
Performances - as mentioned above, the parade was superb and the children were great on the stage and catwalk. However, the concert, for me, was extra special! This was the first time EIS has performed a Halloween concert; we had dance routines, singing and instrument playing - I thoroughly enjoyed it! A special thank you to Ms Oxana and Ms Anna, of course.
Atmosphere - due to all of these things, the atmosphere was electric. There was a real buzz around the building and parents attending really added to that, so thank you!

My heartfelt appreciation goes out to all the teachers and adults in the school for helping make it such as special day. The artwork and decorations were excellent and the amount of work that went into the school environment was second to none. I am glad to say it really paid off and we made some unforgettable memories.

We also very much look forward to lots of further events coming up in the not-too-distant-future. We will keep you posted, but we have US Dental, Anti Bullying Week, Children in Need (pyjamas day), House Competitions, Year 5 Assembly, the Winter Bazaar and the Christmas Concert, to name a few.
