Welcome to the EIS Newsletter, Issue No. 36!

In other words, our penultimate newsletter issue of the year, so definitely a milestone reached right here!

As this week started, our first port of call was to come back down to earth after the glitz and glamour of our Summer Concert last Friday. What a day that was, I was extremely proud of all our students and I thought the play was hilarious, sad, funny and clever - the whole entertainment package, as it were. Of course, none of it would have been possible without the teachers here and the support you all provided. Thank you, again.

It has been a big week for our current Year 6 cohort as they have experienced a couple of transition days. Basically, this consists of the Y6 students spending a day as though they are in Secondary. They are taught by Secondary teachers, they follow the timetable and schedule of Secondary students, they share the break with Secondary students. You get the idea. It is obviously designed to prepare our final Primary cohort for life in what is a very different academic world. It is not easy but this lot are ready and they are enjoying the experience, by all accounts.

Speaking of Secondary, they all visited Victory Park this week, led by Mr. Woods. Naturally, the focus was on History so Mr. Woods led the guys around the wonderful surroundings and enjoyed all that was on offer. I was glad to hear the students represented us well and behaved impeccably. Well done, gang!

A major annual event this week, which many of you attended, was Sports Day. We had to change the day and bring it forward 24 hours due to thunderstorm forecasts for Thursday. I am glad we did judging by what I saw from my office window! Anyway, thank you Mr. Vadim and Ms. Anna, the weather was glorious and you delivered another excellent Sports Day event. There was something for everyone, classic relay races, sports competitions, sports quizzes and sports related art competitions - we even had ice cream and bubble tea. Well done, Bears!

To mark the end of the year, on Friday, we had our graduation and end of year parties throughout the school. The older cohort from Y9 up went off site to a venue named The Loft which was excellent. The students had buffet style food, a DJ, an outdoor garden area and games available. Year 11 and Year 13 were awarded their unique specialist graduation hoodies as well. Limited edition, of course. Very smart collector's items they are. KS3 celebrated in the school hall and had pizza, soda, party games, music, you name it. Similarly, the Primary cohort had a full planned day of activities that consisted of the aforementioned. All the students had a great time and they deserved it!
