The Scenicsim team wishes to thank everybody who made his “Steeper journey” possible. Now let’s have a look at the beautiful presentation on what we all have waited for for so long: The German high-speed line in Scenicsim.
Well, it took us a while… but we are finally there, because last Thursday the German BAB (Federal Railway Administration) officially announced that all of the German high-speed network (Thalys) would be fully operational by the end of next year.
The official date will be the 26th of June 2012, just before the BAB will announce that all of the Thalys routes are ready. Let’s hope it will not be too late and that our train will not be too slow in the night!
As you know, Scenicsim has been already announced as a partner for this great project, and we are very honored to be selected to simulate a complete network of 4 different High-Speed routes (one starting at Brussels airport and other at Paris, Cologne and Amsterdam).
This achievement is thanks to the Thalys and the Frankfurt RBB who have been so kind to provide us with all the detailed information necessary for the simulation. They have shared the internal SBB network, the signaling systems (RZMS) and the existing infrastructure, plus the complete stations and their layout. Even the exact timetable and the official high-speed trains were provided. We couldn’t have asked for more from them!
The good news is that they plan to introduce a new timetable on July 1, so we hope that we will be able to simulate everything before then!
We are already working hard to be ready for this great challenge and hope that our performance will be as good as the real trains in France.
A little note for the upcoming 1st of July. We are preparing new versions for both Windows and Mac, but due to the large changes for Windows and due to the fact that Mac is an very unique OS with a very different interface, we were unable to make this version available before July 1st.
Well, we could not predict the huge traffic after the July 1st, but the final version will be available on July 9th.
