Congressional Soccer Match

The 6th annual Congressional Soccer Match is happening today at Gonzaga High School (19 Eye St. NW) at 5 p.m. The game benefits the U.S. Soccer Foundation, which helped ensure children living in underserved communities can have active and healthy lives.

The game pits Republicans against Democrats and mixes in former professional athletes. Anheuser-Busch will be hosting a Global Biergarten with beers from around the world for spectators.

Republican members playing include Sen. Todd Young and Reps. Don Bacon, Jack Bergman, Mike Bishop, Erik Paulsen, Darin LaHood and David Valado. Democrats competing include Reps. Kathy Castor, Ruben Kihuen, Rick Larsen and Norma Torres.
