AnimeLamp is a software designed to gather data about anime from various sources (included on our website).
In other words, AnimeLamp is a kind of framework which will help you gather data by yourself, using numerous free informations included on our website.
It includes a database, a user interface, various informations, as well as a lot of tools.
AnimeLamp targets both experienced and novice users, who don't need to master several programming languages in order to use it.
Moreover, AnimeLamp is written in python and its interface is written with Tkinter, a cross-platform GUI library created by Harold Solomon.
You just need to run the executable AnimeLamp.py in order to get an animated splash-screen and a simple user interface.
AnimeLamp database is transparently integrated in the program using sqlite3 database system (also included in the package).
No file management in your computer is required to save your data.
If you want, you can export your database to a file using sqlite3 in order to copy and paste your Anime data in your own database program.
You can also save them on your computer using temporary files.
You can import your data from file into your list using "Import Animes from a file" function.
Moreover, AnimeLamp can merge data from an anime list, an anime title and a synopsis to create a "Calendar-like" interface, in which you can see the date of your anime and the access to the page containing your synopsis and the first episode synopsis.
You can also export all your data as a rich text file.
With this file, you can re-import all of your data.
And above all, AnimeLamp comes with a scheduler (which will be included in a future release), which will let you see automatically new anime on the net.
In other words, if you want to keep your latest anime added to your list, it's not necessary to add them manually everytime, by using scheduler.
To do it, AnimeLamp will work like a framework which will let you add all your anime.
The scheduler will then add automatically all your anime to your list, based on your preferences.
You can also create a "schedule" in which it will add automatically all your anime everytime a new release appears (this will include new anime added to the net, new anime that were added on

The AnimeLamp works with a list of Anime titles specified by the user
in a given source (usually selected from the "Anime catalog" menu).
The user can then filter the available Anime by various criteria:
- last update (for Anime from a specific site)
- durations, specially for Anime from AnimeNfo
- data source (name, rank...).
The AnimeLamp can then display the resulting list of anime in various ways:
- List (all the anime in the catalog)
- Tree (an overview of anime chronologically sorted)
- Flat (like a spreadsheet)
- List sorted by durations (for to complement the tree view)
- List sorted by names (for to complement the tree view and the list of
synopses)
- List sorted by ranks (for to complement the tree and the list of
synopses)
- List sorted by latest update
All the available options can be activated using the "Tree" or the "List"
tab in the layout menu.
The AnimeLamp can be launched from the desktop shortcut, menu or from the
desktop context menu. It also has a "Favorites" menu (menu bar) from which
you can also launch it.
