Acronis Backup Advanced is a very simple, yet powerful system backup solution for businesses and families alike. It includes a built-in scheduler, Wake-On-Lan capability, full system backup, file backup, application backup and file and application recovery.

[font size=2.5pt]First impressions are important and Acronis True Image 2017 Full is easy to use and offers a “Startup” application. This will run automatically after a new drive has been installed.
If you use the startup, you can create a backup of your entire drive, or just a partition of it. In the full backup, you can select which folders or applications you want included. In the partition backup, you can set the size of the partition and add up to four partitions to a backup. If you backup to a network, you will need to have an access computer to access the network share.
When you have completed the backup, you can select how you wish the backup to be made. You can have the backup mounted as a drive and automatically start the backup at boot time. Another option is to unmount it before starting the backup. Also, you can select that only certain drives are backed up and also that they are backed up with “a delta-backup”. This means that files not in the backup, but which have changed since the last full backup will be backed up.
You can also choose to “skip” files that are unneeded by backing up only the necessary file types.
The new version allows you to back up to the cloud. You can have the backup mounted as a drive and automatically start the backup at boot time. Or unmount it before starting the backup.
All in all, a very good product, although not something you would use every day. You can set it to make weekly or monthly backups, so that you have up-to-date backups. I will look at the version with a serial number though, to see if it can run on a USB key or external HDD.
