Texas Rep.-elect Dan Crenshaw made a call to “Saturday Night Live” comic Pete Davidson after seeing that Davidson had made a troubling post on social media before taking down his account.

“I told him everyone had a purpose in this world,” Crenshaw told KPRC2 in Houston. “God put you here for a reason. It's your job to find that purpose. And you should live that way.”

Davidson had mocked Crenshaw’s eyepatch on “SNL” last month — the former Navy SEAL lost his eye in a roadside bomb explosion in Afghanistan — but the comic later apologized and Crenshaw appeared with him the next week and got to do a little reciprocal mocking.
