Plot
A few days before Thanksgiving, Judge Victor Savage (Tom Skerritt) is slaughtered by "blood drinker" parasites that can only be destroyed by the sunlight of the holiday season. A pregnant woman must find the "solution" to this terrible disease before her unborn child can be infected. Dr. Jody "Bullfrog" Murray (John Houseman) leads his team on a journey into the Amazon jungle to find the cure.
They eventually find a tribe called the Ye'Koy who live in a civilization of ruins that are now inhabited by the blood-drinking parasites.  The Yekoy are an extremely warlike and predatory people, but after Jody presents a solution to the problem, the tribesmen agree to help their mutual enemy.
The team returns to civilization, where Dr. Peter Wooton (William Conrad) takes charge of a special team to dig out the remnants of the ancient Yekoy civilization.  The team, led by Wooton, digs deeper and deeper as they unearth the skeleton of a man.  But when the team digs too deep, they run into a forbidden pit.  At the bottom of this pit, the team encounters something that cannot be described with mere words.
