Hundreds of Fresno area high school students attended the fourth annual Fresno City College High School Day last Friday. Students attended two workshop sessions from among the 17 unique offerings. The conference was capped off with a mail-in competition awards ceremony.
Campus News staff members at East Los Angeles City College have had an extended relocation of their newsroom while the building the newsroom is located in has been cleaned yup after flooding caused by a faulty air condition system. Despite having to work off a few laptop computers in a makeshift newsroom they have managed to keep up with a regular publication schedule for several weeks.
The Oak Leaf at Santa Rosa City College is making heavy use of Facebook video to tell stories about fires in its service area. Staff members posted about a dozen or more videos over the weekend (here's one). The Oak Leaf is familiar with fire stories, having done a professional job covering that region's devastating fires two years ago.
