The way we conduct meetings changed over night. Or has it?Given we are no longer able to meet in person, event organizers and professional speakers have been scrambling to recreate their live meetings using virtual platforms. In other words, automate what has been done in the past.If a speech was to be given in front of a live audience, it is now delivered as a webinar. Same content. Same delivery method. But now in front of a camera instead of 1,000 faces.Unfortunately, nearly every virtual meeting I have attended simply tried to replicate the face-to-face experience - and it failed.To create better meetings, we need to ask different questions. What if we didnt just replicate, but instead we innovated? Here are some questions that might get your thinking differently about your next virtual meeting: What can we do in virtual meetings that we cant do with live in-person meetings? How can we take full advantage of virtual options? For example, how can we take advantage of the ability to break people into smaller groups instantly - for short periods of time? How can we use polling to drive the direction of the conversation - and make real-time shifts in the content? What aspects of meetings do not require real-time participation? For those, what other options do we have for delivering that content? How can we maximize the value we get from the live virtual meeting? For example, how can we limit the live virtual experience to the interactive components, and deliver the rest via pre-recorded video that is sent prior to the meeting? How can we go beyond the meeting? What processes can we put in place to sustain results over the long-term? What happens after the event? For example, how can we get attendees to apply the concepts from the meting? How can we create cohorts that tackle real-world problems? How can we measure the actual impact of a meeting? How can we engage people long after the meeting is over? When we return to face-to-face meetings, what aspects of virtual meetings will continue to out-perform the in-person meeting? For example, how can we use technology before and after an event to maximize the value we get from the live meeting?This is just a starter list of questions. There are literally dozens (or hundreds) of different questions that you could ask that would reveal previously invisible solutions. The point is, dont simply replicate or automate what you have done in the past. Rethink the entire meeting experience: before, during, and after the event. Use technology the best way possible to get the best results. Sometimes the ideal solution isnt a live meeting.Christos KalohoridisSo youve just gotten to the end of Netflixs exciting new show, Locke and Key. Exciting, right? You may have just finished watching all ten episodes of the Joe Hill series, but as soon as the credits of that last episode start rolling, youve probably got some questions. Our advice? First, take some time and revisit the shows soundtrack—it rules. After that, take a deep breath. OK. Question time, now: first, when do we get more? When will the Savini Squad return? And second: what the hell just happened? And while we dont quite have an answer for you on the first one just yet, we do think we can be of assistance for the second. Whats happening with Gabe and Eden? What was that at the end? When the final confrontation between Dodge and the Lockes seemed to happen with about 20 minutes left in the episode, you may have suspected that there would be more to this story—and you were right. As we learned in the closing moments of Locke and Keys first season, Gabe has been a version of DodgeLucas (using the Identity Key) all along, putting his interest in the keys and using them (especially so when compared to Scot) into perspective (it also puts his cruelty toward Eden into perspective too, huh? His actually being a demon, and all). A major question worth wondering...did Gabe ever exist at all? Did whoever the woman we know as Dodge ever exist? Perhaps questions well find out the answers to in the future. As we learned in the final few episodes, Lucas was originally possessed in the past when Rendell Locke opened the Black Door and he was hit by a striking beam of light. When Tyler, Bode, Kinsey, and the rest of the gang head down, at first we dont see anyone get hit. But a flashback in the closing moments show that Eden was indeed hit in the arm by the blasts of light. As the episode closes and we see Gabe and Eden grinning at one another with enormous breakfasts (like Dodge had when she first escaped from the well), it tells us that going forward, things for the Lockes arent going to get any easier. Dodge has got help now. What happened to Ellie? After Ellie helped the Lockes, telling them about the past, and Lucas plan, we saw her return to her house, but never come back. A flashback showed that once home she was actually attacked by Lucas (along with Rufus). LucasDodge used the Identity Key on Ellie to make her appear as Dodge, and then knocked her out, leaving her on the floor of the Key House. Thats right: that means Ellie was thrown out into the abyss behind the Black Door, while Dodge runs free. Its scary for our heroes, because it means their biggest enemy is still at large: and they have no idea. In season two, saving Ellie will probably be a major motivation for the heroes of the story. What about Sam Lasser? Poor Sam. The show only briefly touched on Sams backstory, but he was clearly a deeply troubled kid simply looking for anyone who would accept him. What he did to Rendell was obviously unacceptable, and holding the Locke family hostage was...well, not cool. But his comeuppance, being trapped for (seemingly) eternity outside of his body on the grounds of Key House? Not good. He did kill that prison guard, and probably a lot more prisoners too, though. Not OK. Sorry, Sam. Given his proximity to the Key House, though, it seems like a strong possibility that his story isnt over just yet. What could Season 2 of Locke and Key have in store for Sam?
