Hello I'm trying to parse a URL from a document.

I think when I reach the. symbol, it cannot recognize that it's a dot. I've tried trimming the symbol, but it does not work.

var search_url = url.split("?");
This splits the string into array of elements and you need a separator?.
You should avoid using substring as it throws exception when string does not have the required substring.
