What started off with a Tweet...
I have spent Easter reading ... a lot. One of the best reads has been Further Education and the Twelve Dancing Princesses - it has completely developed my thinking and some of the frustrations and 'grey areas' are in this book, something that really has touched me is not only how well the book has been put together from the design, front cover images, snippets from further education students but also the depth in which the chapters go into...that link between historic FE to the present day.
Half way through I messaged lovely Lou Mycroft, I just wanted to share the excitement I had upon reading this book, how my eyes had been opened to so much that I never knew, why was this not integral of teacher training? I am very much a 'why' person, knowing the context and everything around it allows for a much more open mind, allows for thinking to be developed.
What I do know now is that I want to go on journey through the history of FE, I want to know so much more about the sector I work in, where it started, what influenced the changes over many years and where FE is heading to, how are all the dots joined? I can only imagine they are not a straight line.
