Save As
Once you've completed all the changes
Save As Modified-FileName

Important: NotePad is set to save things as .txt by default. You will need to change the file extension for the file you just created.

Change File Extension to .vtt
Open File Explorer
Click Downloads (folder where you saved the edited captions file)
Click View tab in the Ribbon
Click Details in Layout and
Tick File name extension checkbox in Show/Hide
Right-Click Modified-Filename
Click Rename
Delete .txt
Type .vtt
Press Enter

Your file is now named Modified-Filename.vtt and ready to replace the original captions file.
