The Beat Meter is a unique measurement tool. It’s not a real stopwatch, but it functions like a metronome. It displays the current and average beat rate of a piece of music.
To display the beat rate, click the Beat Meter Widget.
The widget allows you to set the number of bars per second. The value is limited to 1024 due to memory constraints.
If you click to the beat in time with the music, the widget will redraw with the current and average beat rates displayed below the widget.
If you release the mouse button, the average will become the current beat rate and the beat rate will not change until you click the widget again.
The widget also allows you to change the number of bars per second. The clock will display only as many bars as specified by the current value.
It also allows you to set the number of bars to update for each beat.
If you set the widget to display beats, the clock will update at the specified rate.
If you set the widget to display bars, the clock will update at the specified rate for each bar, using the same formula as the value of bars per second.
The Beat Meter is useful if you like to practice a piece of music at a constant beat.
When you start the timer and click to the beat in time with the music, the widget will update the beat rate below the widget.
