The RE:Flex Plugin enables the user to take a 2D still image, apply a "warp", and finish it into a 3D animation. Unlike conventional morphing, where a distance calculation is used to determine the amount of deformation between two "source" and "destination" images, the RE:Flex plugin calculates a rotation (mapping) between two geometric shapes to create a spatio-temporal warping. This new technology provides the user with rapid morphing without all the extra work.
The RE:Flex Plugin can be used in AE, Combustion, Discreet Effects (IFFFS) and Shake.
This is an extremely new feature, based on what we've learned from our other warping plugins, including the RE:Shadow FX plugin.
The RE:Flex plugin is designed to work well with the Twixtor plugin as well.
You can also use the RE:Flex plugin to create 2D stills that are subsequently converted into 3D animations. However, the RE:Flex plugin cannot morph objects larger than a single video frame (i.e. you cannot morph a 3D skull over a 9 frame animation).
