After Presentation 4: Cynthia Bourgeault. “The Wisdom Jesus; Transforming Heart and Mind ”
·       Cynthia describes Jesus as a recognition event which totally transformed the consciousness of the early Christians from ordinary knowledge of Jesus to direct knowing of Jesus.
What might be meant by this ‘recognition energy’ and where is it to be found today?
·       She claims that Jesus’ core teaching is that the Kingdom of Heaven is a state of ‘non-dual consciousness’ which ‘sees no separation – not between God and humans not between humans and other humans’.
How can you hear, understand and live this totally transformed state of consciousness?

·      Cynthia claims that “Over the centuries, the Church, in its growing discomfort with sexuality, has also inadvertently become afraid of love, retreating from the very heart of Jesus’ kenotic path”.
What would it mean for the Church as the followers of Christ to recover its comfort with human love?

·      Bourgeault claims that wisdom-Christianity is practice-driven? What wisdom practice appeals to you and why?

·       “Christianity will either grow into an appropriate form to match the consciousness of the twenty first century, or else it will disappear as an institution and we will be life face-to-face with the naked presence of Christ”
