I may be forced to disagree with the other requestors, but I don't want to live in a world where my children can't use Windows 10. I think it's a fine idea, but I don't think Microsoft should have to force me to make this choice, and if I don't, then Windows 10 should automatically revert to an earlier version, just like Windows 7 did.
Like it or not, Windows 7 is already unsupported. Sure, it gets updated, as all of the Microsoft OSes do, but Windows 7 itself is unsupported and no more work is going to be done for it.
Windows XP, on the other hand, is still completely supported. Sure, there have been a few security patches that weren't important enough to apply to Windows 7, but even after those patches the OS is still going to get updates.
Every few months, if not more often, Microsoft will release an update for XP that will fix the known issues with it.
Microsoft really should take a similar approach for Windows 10.
The problem with Windows 10 was the universal apps, and the customer always comes first. That is something which has to change.
The back-end should be the same, with that being universal apps.
When the customer changes come, there may be a permanent switch to a newer Windows version, but no longer support MS
