We received with interest the Governments announcement with regards to the rest of the school year on Wednesday.  
As a result, we are surveying our Primary parents to gauge their essential childcare requirements. 
At this stage, we are fact-finding and trying to see how many families would want to send children to school for childcare in June. With some families out of the country, others who are shielding and yet more who are uncomfortable in sending their children to school, it really helps us to plan our provisions if we know which families are here and need to send children to the school site for childcare purposes.
The details and what this is going to look like are dependent on the responses we receive. It is a mammoth task to arrange new procedures and prepare our site. It is helpful to know who we might be preparing for and the information will shape what the provisions may look like.
The government advice at this stage has been that remote-learning will continue until the end of the school year except for families requiring childcare. Britannica is looking at this advice and also reaching out to our community to plan for the best situation for our children.
We will be in touch again soon with more information and SLT are meeting regularly to discuss. The school leadership are working hard to try and cover all scenarios and think through the implications of each. Undoubtedly we will not get everything right, first time, as it is an incredibly complex and uncertain picture at this time and I count myself lucky to be surrounded by such a supportive community and staff colleagues. Patience and understanding will be important during the next phase of change.
