Summer improvements and changes
The summer break is always a very busy time for our maintenance team and this year was no exception. It always amazes me how the school manages to open ready for the start of the year given how much goes on in such a short space of time.
We have refurbished or improved several key areas this summer. These are detailed below:
1) The Club area at the top of the school has seen a full refurbishment with a full decoration, a new layout, fresh furniture, replacement bathrooms, new study area and most exactingly a new outer terrace. This should provide an excellent added study/social area for our sixth form students, in particular.
2) The upper playground has seen several pieces of work with the 'bleaches' benching being removed, refurbishment of the steps, replacement hand rails, a new ball-netting fence and a new compost area.
3) An additional changing room has been created next to the gym, replacing the old PE office.
4) The bathrooms outside the Music Room have also been refurbished and the benching in the Music room improved.
If you have been past the school during the last few weeks of July, you will have seen that Kakkuk street was dug up and that new electric connections were being installed. The final part of our own dedicated line is due to be connected over the next few weeks.
