Dear Parents,
On Thursday, for the first time in almost two years, information meetings were held for EIS West parents. After short music performances given by Nursery, Reception and Year 1 pupils, parents attended presentations given by teachers. Ms Carol and Dr Gail did a presentation for Early Years Foundation Stage parents on the topic, ‘Learning through Play’, and Ms Jeanelle gave a presentation to Year 1 parents on ‘Using Jolly Phonics to Teach Sounds’.
It was heartening to see so many parents showing keen interest in their children’s education. The large number of fathers in attendance was particularly encouraging.
Next week, on Thursday, Ms Waldron will give a presentation to Year 2 parents on ‘Using Jolly Phonics to Teach Sounds’. Further parents’ information meetings will be held for other year groups in the not-too-distant future, but these will have to be staggered, due to Covid-19 infection prevention regulations.
